Start off summer right with a free performance by legendary Canadian rock band 54-40!

Founded in an East Vancouver bar in 1981, 54-40 now boast three platinum-selling albums and were inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2017.
The headlining set is part of Beyond 49, a celebration of Langara College’s 49 years on West 49th Avenue in Vancouver, which will culminate with the Community Day celebration, presented by RBC Royal Bank on June 15th.
54-40 will perform hits from their 30+ year career on the RBC Main Stage from 3:45pm - 5:00pm. The band will be joined by several local Vancouver artists throughout the day - including folk/pop singer-songwriter, Desirée Dawson and indie/soul band, The Big Coast - spread across two stages, each featuring a diverse mix of music and entertainment for all ages.

Langara has built an amazing community over the past 49 years and this event aims to reconnect with alumni and the community that they’ve been a part of for the last half century. Everyone is welcome but there will be special perks and celebrations for Langara alumni in attendance, including homecoming reunions as well as the Langaran Lounge; a place to sit-back, relax, get your Langara alumni card, sign-up for alumni benefits, and view the alumni and retiree showcase.
There are also prizes to be won, including a grand prize getaway to Victoria worth over $1,500, which includes roundtrip transportation from Vancouver to Victoria for two on the V2V Empress in Royal Class and a two-night stay at the 4-star luxury boutique Oswego Hotel. RSVP to win HERE.

In addition to prizes and live music, the celebration will include food trucks, kids activities, games, a walking meditation labyrinth, a robotics competition, yoga classes, a speaker series, a licensed beer and wine garden, and so, SO MUCH more!
