Another restaurant story coming to an end in Vancouver, as Cacao Progressive Latin restaurant in Kitsilano announced Monday their immediate closure.
“It’s time to pack everything up! It’s been an amazing journey and a wonderful experience. Thanks to all your support through these years. Didn’t ended how we wanted but, it’s time for us to move on. We’re closing for good,” shared the restaurant on social media July 15.
Cacao was the project of Vancouver chef Jefferson Alvarez and mother/daughter duo Marcela and Andrea Ramirez.
Opened in the summer of 2016 on West 1st Avenue, Cacao aimed to meld seasonal west coast ingredients with the bold flavours of Latin America.
In recent weeks, Cacao was embracing the season with weekend BBQs, however the restaurant appeared earlier this month on a popular restaurant real estate broker site as being for sale, and the writing appeared to be on the wall.
We’ll share news of what’s going in at 1898 W 1st Avenue when that info becomes available.
