While many people call it the 'no fun city,' Vancouver was recently voted the 'friendliest city in the world' in a recent global survey.

The survey was conducted by travel company Big 7 Travel, who asked its social audience of 1.5 million people “where you would find the friendliest city in the world?”

Vancouver was noted for having 'extraordinarily friendly residents' as well as an amazing multicultural community who band together to make visitors feel welcome and safe. Further, the survey authors note that locals are quick to help tourists and that the  'community vibe' makes socializing a breeze.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia placed second, for its naturally friendly citizens who are nice to strangers. Bruges, Belgium came third, and was called a 'fairytale place' with a charming atmosphere that is hard to beat.

Morocco, Casablanca came 49th, because residents will show you around, but at a price. Similarly, Rome, Italy came last, due to the fact that locals are a bit tired of giving tourists directions.
