University RMCP are asking the public for help after a woman was carjacked at gunpoint in a UBC parkade on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The robbery took place in broad daylight, when the victim was returning to her vehicle on the 10th floor of the West Parkade at UBC, 2140 Lower Mall.

Police received a report shortly before 6:30 p.m. that a vehicle had been stolen at gunpoint. The victim reports that she was approached by two suspects when she was returning to her car. One of them produced a small handgun and demanded her keys, and she complied. Following this, the suspects fled the scene. The victim was uninjured.

The first suspect is described as a male, possibly South Asian, six feet tall, with a slim build and wearing a grey hoody with the hood up and black jogging pants. He was also carrying a palm-sized black handgun.

The second suspect is described as a male, darker skinned, with an unknown ethnicity. He was wearing a dark long sleeve shirt and pants.

The stolen vehicle is a grey 2007 Kia Spectra BC License Plate 308PSG. If you see the stolen vehicle, RCMP advise that you do not approach it and call 911 immediately.
