We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, fall is truly the best time to travel in B.C.

Not only do you get to make use of your favourite sweaters, toques and scarves, you can enjoy the province’s best destinations at off-season pricing, not to mention the sights and sounds that only come around this time of year, particularly when you’re by the water.

Tofino’s Ocean Village Resort offers guests the opportunity to stay inside rustic cedar cabins situated along the stunning shoreline of MacKenzie Beach. Each cabin boasts incredible ocean views, allowing guests to watch the ocean transform from shimmering and serene by day, to an almighty display of Mother nature by night.

That’s right, this fall you can go from paddle boarding in the sunshine to fireside storm watching without even leaving the property. In fact, you’ll barely have to leave your cabin; every cabin at Ocean Village Resort is situated 100ft or less from the shoreline and comes fully equipped with a kitchen and private bathroom with a full-size tub and local organic products. 1 + 2 bedroom cabins feature an added bonus;  cozy propane fireplaces.

Built by Tofino’s own Hellesen family in 1976 using timber from the resort property, Ocean Village Resort also offers views of the neighbouring coastal rainforests, which can be explored by foot during the day.

That said, Ocean Village Resort truly shines at night.

On a clear evening, you can gaze at a seemingly infinite number of stars or make a splash in the resort’s one-of-a-kind cedar walled indoor swimming pool and hot tub. When you’re done, light a campfire on the beach and stock up on snacks at the lobby, which carries a curated selection of locally made delights like Tofino Cold Brew, Tofino Kombucha, Rhino Coffee and Seawench Naturals.

Today, Ocean Village is proud to be a registered Ocean Friendly Business. Staying true to their laid back and heartfelt coastal roots, the family-operated resort aims to provide all visitors, whether they be individuals seeking adventure or families (dogs included) looking to unwind, an absolutely magical place to play.
