Nanaimo RCMP are on the lookout for a man who stole more than 150 pairs of cosmetic contact lenses Thursday.

The theft happened about 5:50 p.m. at Pattie’s Party Palace on Rutherford Road.

Store employees told police that a man came in and went straight to a display case that held approximately 350 pairs of the lenses, used to make eyes different colours and worth about $30 a pair. He broke the display case in half and took half of it with him as he ran through the parking lot.

Surveillance pictures have been released of a suspect, who is described as white, 25 to 35 years old and of medium height and build. He was wearing a dark jacket, jeans and a dark hat with a logo on the front.
