Safety alert: Canadian recall of mini-lights due to 'electric shock hazard'

You should immediately stop using the recalled lights to avoid potential injury.

Health Canada warns that some batches of decorative LED mini-lights have been recalled because they pose an electric shock hazard. 

The federal department of health posted the safety alert Monday (Nov. 29), which includes 60 LED Mini-Style Lights with multi-colour bulbs and green wire for indoor and outdoor use.

The affected products have a total length of 16 ft. (4.8m). The UPC code on the box is 7 64878 78237 5. The model number displayed on the white tag attached to the wire is LA-60TM-29/2F(0.04) 0617 E190242.

The affected products were sold from April 2021 to November 2022.

What you should do

You should immediately stop using the recalled lights to avoid potential injury and dispose of them "in accordance with the applicable local transportation and waste requirements for electronic products," according to Health Canada.
