I’m a Grade 10 who’s hanging out with a bunch of Grade 9s. In Grades 8 and 9, I was always trying to make friends with the older grades because I was always one of those kids who felt like my generation is s***. The older kids seemed to understand the things that the people who are younger and at the same age as me didn’t seem to. But what I realized is that usually I’d end up making friends with people in the graduating class and it’s always too painful to see them leave. That’s why I ended up making friends with people who are younger and actually did start opening up to people in my grade. For the most part, you shouldn’t judge an entire group based on one or two people, as cliché as that sounds.
