“One of my life's mottos is if you expect anything, you expect too much. It's like don't do things because you expect to get things in return. More so do them because you want to. It's pretty easy once you get in the hang of it because then your mind is taken away from worrying about things... That happened to me once. Someone wasn't telling me this thing that if they told me they knew it would hurt me and so they didn't tell me and I had to find out months down the road... It was a girl. I had just met her before she went on a trip and then she went on her trip and I was like OK, cool, and then she came back and I was like, “What's our situation now?” and she acted like it was still the same from before but she actually met somebody else. That was so long ago and I have a fiancée now; I've obviously gotten over that, right. It doesn't keep me up at night, but in the moment of it, it definitely kept me [up]. And that was also an example of me expecting something. I was expecting her to come home and still be the same as before."
