The City of Vancouver continues its earthquake preparedness workshops, with the next one scheduled for Oct. 15 at the Britannia Community Centre, 1661 Napier St. It begins at 1 p.m. Contact the community centre at 604-718-5800 to register. Billed as "Be prepared, not scared," the workshop will teach participants how to be prepared for any emergency or disaster. You will learn personal and family preparedness, how to develop a family emergency plan, how to perform a home hazard hunt and how to prepare for your pets. Participation is free.
