Village improvements

Residents and visitors to the Olympic Village at Southeast False Creek will soon be able to connect to the area by passenger ferry.

Residents and visitors to the Olympic Village at Southeast False Creek will soon be able to connect to the area by passenger ferry. A new dock, ready in August, will service the harbour ferries and be available for nonpower boats such as kayaks and canoes. The dock will be located to the west of Creekside Community Recreation Centre at the north end of the village plaza. A new park is also now part of the village. Triangle Park, informally named for its shape, is tucked between the seawall and the pedestrian bridge. It features rolling benches and an artistic arbour. The park offers a tranquil spot to watch activity on the seawall and east end of False Creek, as well as stunning views of downtown and the North Shore mountains. Triangle Park is in addition to Hinge Park, located at West First Avenue at Columbia Street, which features industrially inspired play structures and an off-leash dog area, and Habitat Island, a constructed island that is now a sanctuary to birds, mammals and sea creatures.
