Be My Amigo Back in January of 2012, a Vancouver man named Jorge Amigo complained to Vancouver Magazine (and the city at large) about his treatment at the hands of this citys fairer sex (Do Vancouver Women Suck?, Vancouver Magazine, Jan 9 2012). Somehow he has turned the mini-celebrity that arose from his letter into mini-celebrity. He hosts his second annualBe My Amigo Valentines Day event at Vancouver Urban Winery (55 Dunlevy Ave.). Guests are seated at 20-person tables to indulge in select local meats, cheeses, five different hand-picked wines, and of course conversation with strangers (and, if youre lucky, Amigo himself). A live jazz band in the fireside lounge closes the evening. For tickets to Be My Amigo visit BemyamigoVDay.eventbrite.com.
