The Vancouver International Airport recently celebrated its 80th birthday and the festivities continue with music and face painting on Fridays until Aug. 26. Take Off Fridays runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with DJs, entertainment, lunch specials and mascots in the domestic and international terminals, Departures Level 3. The airport's public observation area has high-tech telescopes to check out footage from the airport community and explore Sea Island through an interactive model.
