PuSh International Performing Arts Festival
PuSh is back for its 16th annual edition, with a vibrant lineup of creative risk-taking and dynamic interdisciplinary collaboration. Featuring 27 works from 24 companies — including six world premieres by local Vancouver artists — PuSh 2020 is a poignant reminder of art’s power to bring communities together and effect change. The socially charged program includes an immersive sound installation in remembrance of Syrian lives lost to war, talking rice cookers, a concert-drama fused true tale of Jewish refugees, a disability-arts vaudeville experience and more.

Dine Out Vancouver
Now in its 18th year, the annual restaurant and food festival will be back to tantalize locals and visitors with an array of special menus and event programming around the city. The core of DOV remains the specially priced and curated menus at participating restaurants that give diners a taste of what they have to offer. This year, 318 Metro Vancouver restaurants are participating. Other popular Dine Out Vancouver event programming includes the pop-up food cart pod of Street Food City, World Chef Exchange dinners, the Great Big Taste and more.

West Coast Chamber Music: The Romantic Spirit
West Coast musicians Angela Cavadas, Rebecca Wenham. Tawnya Popoff, Holly Duff and Alan Crane perform the music of Johannes Brahms, Edvard Grieg and Canadian composer Christine Donkin. It’s West Coast Chamber Music’s first concert of 2020.

Hot Chocolate Festival
2020 marks Metro Vancouver’s largest Hot Chocolate Festival, with 44 restaurants, cafes, bakeries and chocolatiers serving up 114 flavours during the month-long run. This year's list includes everything from drinks spiked with tequila to ones inspired by Marie Antoinette and Amy Winehouse. There are vegan drinks, and one drink that will set you back a whopping $98. Anything goes when it comes to Hot Chocolate Festival creations.

Between Science and Mythology: The World of Bollywood Science Fiction Film
It’s the largest film industry in the world, producing over 1,200 movies a year. Yet, the Indian movie industry doesn’t have significant representation in the world of science fiction. Kwantlen Polytechnic University English instructor Dr. Asma Sayed will be discussing this and the overall culture of Bollywood films at this free KPU Science World Speaker Series event.
