Thirty years later and this city’s just as weird as ever. The Vancouver Fringe Festival is kicking off its third decade with another 10 days of un-juried, uncensored productions, beginning Sept. 4, and tickets are on sale today.
Prices for shows are $14. Half-price tickets will be offered for select shows. Frequent Fringer Cards are also available for $40, $90, and $270. A $5 membership fee is required. There will also be free shows throughout the festival at the Barefoot Wine & Bubbly Stage and the St. Ambroise Fringe Bar at the AGRO Cafe.
As always, the Fringe is centred on Granville Island, but venues extend across the city to The Cultch, Firehall Arts Centre, Havanaand more. There will be 91 shows this year, running the entire gamut of the performance art world. TJ Daweand the Cave Singerswill kick the festival off with a 30th Birthday Bash at Performance Works on Granville Island on Sept. 2.
