Unsung heroes had their moment in the spotlight on Saturday at the first night of the 2017 Leo Awards.

Veteran actor Mackenzie Gray (Legion) hosted the first ceremony of this year’s Leos – which celebrate excellence in British Columbia’s booming film and television industry – in a ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.

A total of 113 awards are handed out over three nights, and the first ceremony – Celebration Awards Ceremony One, affectionately known as the Tech Awards – fêted artists who work behind the scenes on all manner of film and television projects, including visual effects artists, hair and make-up artists, cinematographers, production and costume designers, and editors.

Full results below. The 2017 Leo Awards continue on June 3 with Celebration Awards Ceremony Two (hosted by Paul McGillion and Veena Sood), and conclude on June 4 with the Red Carpet Gala (hosted by Peter Kelamis). Reel People will be there for all of it – so watch @sabrinarmf for live tweets and check back here for next-day results.
