As far as atmosphere is concerned, the legendary theatres of New York's famed Broadway district pale in comparison to our very own Stanley Park.
Big words? Not when you consider the magic of a Theatre Under the Stars performance, where the sights, smells and sounds of Mother Nature combine with top-notch musical theatre to create a spellbinding Vancouver experience.
The 67th season of the Vancouver-based Theatre Under the Stars features two toe-tapping musical comedies (performed on alternate nights beginning July 8): the Broadway adaptation of the hit movie Legally Blonde, in which the effervescent sorority girl Elle Woods (and her little dog, Bruiser) barrels into and through Harvard Law School; and How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Frank Loesser's 1961 musical (and one-time Matthew Broderick vehicle) that is essentially Mad Men for the musical theatre crowd.
Theatre Under the Stars runs until August 17 at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. For tickets, schedule info, and rain policies, visit tuts.ca.
