Hit the streets: Ain’t no party like a street party. And the West Fourth Avenue Khatsahlano Street Party is one of this city’s best, if not biggest, free music and arts festivals, spanning 10 traffic-less blocks between Burrard and Macdonald and featuring eight stages showcasing more than 50 musical acts, art, activities, food and sweet, sweet beer gardens. Performers include Yukon Blonde, the Belle Game, Pointed Sticks, the Courtneys, Enigmas and many others.

Don’t stop believing: It’s been 30 years since Journey have had a song crack the Top 40, but apparently they can still pack the occasional stadium, even without Steve Perry being the one belting out the classics. Or for being part of the disastrous finale of The Sopranos. Journey play to true believers tonight at Rogers Arena.

Get dragged out: The penultimate monthly performance of Hustla, featuring Peach Cobblah, Bambibot and friends, makes the Cobalt fabulous again tonight.

Put on your red shoes and dance the blues: The Columbia Theatre hosts A Night of Bowie featuring thin white performer Syl Thompson, who does the best damn David Bowie this side of Commander Hadfield.

Get festive: Latin American fiesta Carnaval del Sol heats up Concord Pacific Place all day long with a mix of featuring food, music, games, a Mini-World Cup soccer tournament, beer garden, kids’ area, outdoor salsa & Zumba lessons and a craft market.
