Get folksy: The 38th annual Vancouver Folk Festival continues today Jericho Beach Park and the forecast once again calls for sunshine. Today’s highlights include sets by Adam Cohen, I'm With Her, Basia Bulat, Blind Pilot, and Trampled by Turtles.

 

 

Get reminded life goes on: Grammy-winning heartland rocker John Mellancamp, 63, brings his Plain Spoken Tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

Catch a ball game: The Vancouver Canadians four-game run series against the Eugene Emeralds wraps up tonight with a final game a Nat Bailey Stadium.

Get out on the highway: The Cinematheque screens the 1969 counterculture classic Easy Rider tonight, one of three offerings showcasing the work of independent production company BBS, which was at the forefront of the New Hollywood cinema in the late 1960s and early ’70s. Other films in the next few days include Five Easy Pieces and the Jack Nicholson-directed Drive, He Said.

 

Get laughing:  LA-based comedian and occasional Vancouverite Dino Archie returns to town for a four-night stand at the Comedy Mix also featuring local favourites Kevin Banner, Cass Keeley and emcee Ivan Decker.
