Attention all filmmakers: The Vancouver Short Film Festivalis calling for submissions. All genres of film are accepted, from documentaries to animation and web series.
This is the festival’s fifth year celebrating BC-made short films of all levels.
There’s no enforced time limit for the films, but according the press release, shorter is better. The director or producer of the film must be a British Columbia resident in order to enter, or the film must have been produced in BC. Last year, 25 films were shown, with over $17,000 in prizes awarded to local filmmakers.
The festival will run Nov. 14-16. Due to the high quality of submissions in 2013, an additional regular screening will be added to form a total of four BC short film screenings. The festival will add another day to accommodate the additional screening, as well as special screenings to celebrate the festival’s five years.
Deadline for submissions is Aug. 31, 2014 at 6pm. Visit the VSFF homepage for more information or to submit a film.
