Vancouver dancers, here's your shot to hit the big time.
Vancouver’s Goh Ballet is holding open auditions this Sunday, May 4, for its sixth annual Nutcracker production, to be performed this December. Hundreds of dancers aged six years and up are expected to line up, warm up, and audition throughout the day for the chance to snag one of 200 parts up for grabs in this year's elaborate production.
The auditions take place at Scotiabank Dance Centre (fourth floor), 677 Davie.
Thirty dancers will also be randomly selected to receive a special prize. Twenty dancers aged six to 11 years old will be invited to join the Sugar Plum Tea Party (with the production’s Sugar Plum Fairy), while 10 dancers aged 12 and above will enjoy a special coaching session on stage of the Sugar Plum Variation or Prince Variation with the Sugar Plum Fairy or Prince Cavalier.
Registration opens at 9:30am for children aged six and seven, with auditions contuning all day until 5:30pm.
