Starting today, Vancouver voters can take part in the 2014 civic election through advance polls over eight days ahead of the Nov. 15 election day.
Eight advance polling locations have been set up around the city and will be open from 8am to 8pm on Nov. 4-10, as well as Nov. 12.
The City of Vancouver has even set up a user-friendly online election planner, allowing voters to easily review the dozens of candidates, keep track of their favourites, and find voting times and locations that fit their schedules. They can then generate a summary of their choices to print out or receive by email, plus get an automatic calendar reminder. The election planner is available at vancouver.ca/plan-your-vote.
Saturday, Nov. 15 is the official election day, when voters will be able to cast their vote at any of about 120 voting stations around the city.
To vote in advance, or on election day, registered voters should bring their voter information card to a voting station to make the voting process as quick and efficient as possible. Voters not on the voting list will need to show two pieces of identification and complete a voter registration form to be signed in front of an election official.
