5 BEAUTY TIPS FOR A RUNWAY READY LOOK THIS FALL

It’s one thing to find the right product for your beauty needs and quite another when it comes to using it correctly or effectively.
La Biosthetique

It’s one thing to find the right product for your beauty needs and quite another when it comes to using it correctly or effectively. Whenever I run into a beauty expert, I take full advantage of their knowledge and skills they have perfected through their years of working in the industry. While I must admit that I’m exhausted sifting through each product out there (let’s face it there’s lots!), I’ve often fallen victim to simply asking the sales person at a department store what I need. The most common answer I get is “well this one is really good. I use it all the time and it’s made a difference.” Testimonial references may be appropriate in some cases but most of the time I’ve found that what worked for the sales person hasn’t worked for me.

Spending a huge amount time on makeup is also something I don’t look forward to or integrate into my beauty routine. My morning routine often includes some eyeliner, blush, lip moisturizer and off I go.  It was perfect timing when I met up with La Biosthetique’s Marc and Anna Riese to hash out some industry secrets that they can share with me to get that runway ready look without the high time investment.

Amy: Highlight some beauty trends this season (a particular shade, makeup technique, etc).

Anna: A big trend this fall/winter is a bold lip in a vibrant color like burgundy, dark reds and pinks. A really handy and beautiful product is the Cream´n Gleam in Blackberry. This one you can also use for the cheeks as a blusher.

I would always moisturize the lips overnight with La Biosthetique´s lip balm Traitement Levres to repair dry, cracked and rough lips. This way your lips are perfectly prepared for a beautiful color and the lipstick will last longer throughout the day.

Amy: I’m not into spending hours on my makeup for great results. What are some industry secrets you can share with us to create a runway ready look?

Anna: A radiant and healthy complexion is the most important part! No make up looks good on a dry and dull skin. My three most favorite products when it has to be quick in the mornings are:

Get a healthy glow: An even and healthy glow is a great start. (Try: Primer Glow Base with SPF 10. It evens out the skin tone in seconds and gives a nice healthy glow.)

Brighten up your look: Cover dark shadows, tired eyes and brightens up the whole eye look. (Try: Cover&Light. This product is very handy for touch ups on the go.)

Keep your pores clean and healthy: Silky Mineral Powder is a loose powder which is packed with trace elements and minerals like zink, iron and magnesium. This one does not block any pores and gives a nice natural, or if needed, full coverage without blocking pores and emphasize fine lines.

Amy:  Name 5 things a woman should have in their beauty bag?

Anna: 1. Moisturizing Boost Serum - serum that boost moisture up to 57% within one hour! A glass of water for every skin type. (Try: La Capsule Beauté)

2.  A lip treatment- an anti-age lip treatment for dry and chapped lips. Shea Butter and Mango oils smoothening and repairing the lips and Mustard seeds plums and boost the collagen production. The result: plum and moisturized lips. (Try: Traitement Levres )

3. Leave in conditioner- restores moisture, prevents frizz, fly-aways and static hair. (Try: Tricoprotein Express)

4. Volume Powder - adds volume at the roots, absorbs oils and refreshes the hair immediately

5. A rich hand lotion – this can be used for dry heals as well. Does not leave a greasy finish but keeps the hands soft and smooth.

Amy: What is your most unique product and why?

Anna: Hard to say….I love them all! I think a very unique product is our scalp and skin test. These two tests the current lipids and moisture in skin and dandruff, hair loss and oils in scalp. With the result at the end, it is very easy for the stylist and esthetician to pick the proper product for their clients. This guarantees no misunderstanding or buying the wrong product.

Amy:  It's always rainy in Vancouver. What are some tips you have to stay beautiful in the wet weather (makeup, hair, skin).

Anna: Our Methode Anti-Frizz provides every hair structure with intensive moisture and prevents static, frizzy and uncontrolled hair.  This is the combination essential for a rainy day.
