Summer is almost here and putting together a stylish look can be harder than you think without some inspiration. (Tip: I often look through Pinterest to find new ways to wear what I already have in my closet.) Luckily for all of us, Banana Republic's spring/summer lookbook gives us lots to look forward to. Here are six of my favorite looks to try this summer from the collection.
Mixing fabrics is a great way to add some dimension to your outfit. Pair a leather vest with your summer dress for an edgier look. Leather and lace is huge this summer so don't be afraid to mix and match.
Floral prints are on trend for this summer. I prefer a dialed down floral print so it looks less busy. It's also a lot more work appropriate compared to a bright floral. To tone down the print, add a blazer and some pumps to match. Don't go too overboard with accessories since the print is stand out piece in the look.
The little black dress taken to a new level is a must this summer. An eye catching neckline keeps things interesting and can be paired with a cardigan or blazer for work. You can add accessories to this look like a gold belt, stacked bracelets or a pair of bright colored heels for a night out.
A trench dress that doubles as a vest is one of the most versatile thing you can own. This look is perfect for the day while the trench alone is great for a night look.
It's summer so why not add a pop of color to your existing pieces? I'm a huge fan of orange for this season since it's quite complimentary on any skin tone.
A textured skirt can be worn any season and a black/white contrast is an easy color to match with anything. You can layer the skirt with a dress and add some neutral heels to keep it simple.
