Re: "Indian restaurant stares down city hall over facade," March 16.
Good for East is East! The ubiquitous canvas awnings in Vancouver are Vancouver's greatest eyesore, making almost every retail street in the city look like a cheap strip mall. Council is completely out of touch if they think they are doing anyone a service by mandating such absolute lack of aesthetics in this city. It is a black mark on us and kudos to East is East for using a bit of style sense in their facade.
Allow more variety and raise the bar for everyone. Let's make the city more interesting.
