Re: “LNG bonanza hopes fractured by reality,” May 30.
Sources such as The Economist have compellingly shown that a global revolution is underway that will double the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 2030. For
Geoff Olson, there can be allowed no recognition that economic prosperity and natural resource extraction are in any way connected.
As the Resource Works Society showed in its recent research report on the British Columbia resource economy, more than half of new B.C. resource jobs are created in the Lower Mainland.
The connection between our beautiful cities and the responsibly managed use of our natural resources could not be more real.
There is also a connection between sustainable resource use and things like health care, education, roads and other social benefits. A public opinion survey we did showed that the majority of residents do see the connection and are confident that responsible practices are the key to a healthy and prosperous society.
