I found the last words of Michael Geller’s opinion piece on affordable housing to be facile and irksome.
Unquestionably, if we compare Vancouver to Syria, Ukraine and Nigeria — places where the very fabric of civilized society is being rent asunder — our problems are minor! The more instructive comparison is with the very best urban spaces in the most successful democracies in the world. Otherwise, what can we aspire to and where can we grow as a culture?
