Re: "Anton promises budget cuts and greater transparency," Sept. 14.

How can the Vision Vancouver party claim to represent voters when they engage in political pacts to limit voter's choice?

If some Vision members believe COPE or the Green Party deserve seats in the upcoming election, they should join those political parties-not conspire to restrict the options for Vancouver taxpayers who foolishly might want a full slate of Vision party members.

It is true that the ultimate choices will be made by the electorate but these shenanigans to limit the field to groups whose claim to fame is simply they are not NPA shows the arrogance of these backroom politicos.

It's something positive to wish for that the voting citizenry will see through this shameful connivance and elect candidates who run for office on their own merits and for their own party without concern for the fate of their opponents or the eventual make-up of our new council.
