To the editor:
You know what? This Geoff Olson guy has a lot of common sense and seems also to be very shrewd in his analysis of current events especially in the light of their philosophical/methodological underpinnings.
He is a realist. Not a Communist, not a Marxist, not a Socialist nor Predatory Capitalist, but a true man of the people. Which, in my opinion, a good journalist/reporter should be. It is weird to see writing in an established newspaper that is informed by the alternative media. I guess this development is a reflection of how close print and online journalism is getting. At this rate, the Courier is in no danger of getting the label “dinosaur media”.
To be clear, alternative media are those sources of news that report what the mainstream press deliberately omits, ignores, distorts, obfuscates or otherwise misreports due to political reasons. I look forward to more of Olson’s commentary and thank the Courier for keeping him on. As of now, Olson’s column is the first thing I open up to.
