Re: "Save On Meats signs up "anarchists," April 5.

There are multiple problems with your front-page account of Mark Brand's charitable entrepreneurship.

One. The story has conflated two separate communiqués. A signboard swiping is the only action claimed by a "B.Cat", who makes no mention of an Anti-Gentrification Front or of window smashing. This mix-up exposes a failure to do the easy homework.

Two. The story claims that the new signboard is based on a photo of "a masked, hooded man." But the gender of that character seems absolutely indeterminable.

Three. A Mark Brand tweet of March 15 says this about Save on Meats: "it's getting bigger! adding seats, bigger community kitchen etc all details on our website!" The web site affords almost no detail, and suggests asking staff. From other reliable news sources, it seems apparent that Save on Meats is in the overall process of cutting back to about one-quarter of its previous space.

Why has there been almost no reporting on what is not getting bigger at Save On Meats?
