Riled up over Robson

Re: “City looks at blocking Robson off permanently,” City Shorts, April 14, 2016.

Build your funky benches on the east and north sides of the art gallery. Why screw up people trying to get through there. It creates a lot of fuel and time waste. Big headaches for older people on the bus system.

"Because you think it's the right thing to do" is a very sad reason Sadhu. Before implementing this poorly thought-out plan why not have a thorough look at all the implications and alternatives to reach your objective?

Green my ass.

As a citizen of Vancouver and a resident of the West End I think that this is a terrible decision, and I am quite sure that I am not alone.

The friendly and fun Winter Olympics atmosphere is long gone.
Have any Vancouver councillors strolled down Granville Street lately between Robson and Davie? On any given day or evening the sidewalks have become an extension of the Downtown Eastside and it usually gets worse in the spring and summer months.

Once the council has its way with Robson Square there will be one more area of the downtown core that will be open to the homeless and the useless.
And I don’t mean to sound unkind – I am not talking only about individuals who suffer from addiction or who suffer from mental illness. I am talking about individuals who have chosen to become separate from the general population. These individuals have no respect for property or people. They have lost all concept of cleanliness and have no qualms about leaving their garbage behind and this includes their own excrement. And most have dogs that are there to protect them and therefore who knows what situation would make them attack.

Before making this decision, were plans made that will address the above-mentioned issues? I certainly hope so because these issues involve the safety and security of all Vancouverites and visitors.

Please take a few unpretentious walks through the Granville Area between Robson and Davie. I would be very interested in hearing about your experiences.
