Climate for change
Re: “We can’t dig our way out of the fossil fuels pit,” David Suzuki, Oct. 13, 2016.
I feel that we have been lied to again. Cutting emissions by a third cannot happen with things like the Lelu Island LNG approval. The government has already allowed British Columbia’s old growth forests to be cut down – the greatest cleaning filter for our environment – and now our wild BC north coast is at huge risk for disaster.
Canada should stop lying to its people and stay committed to cutting carbon emissions by one-third within a decade. Our government needs to stop lying and keep the promises made at the December UN climate conference in Paris.

Great things growing
Autumn is here now and we wanted to thank the gardeners from the parks board who maintain Barclay Heritage Park in the West End. The flowers were spectacular this summer. The gardeners work extremely hard through all types of weather to keep all corners of the park looking good.
Locals and tourists take many pictures of the displays around Barclay Manor and Roedde House Museum. If you see them out working, thank them for their efforts.
