Trudeau’s work is just beginning
The Liberals have swept to victory with a majority government, but let’s not forget the many promises they made to woo voters: electoral reform, marijuana legalization, transit investment, infrastructure investment, increased child benefits, a missing women’s inquiry; the list goes on and on.
And what about the Kinder Morgan pipeline? Health Canada’s war against InSite? Senate reform? Canada’s military role? Then there’s a little thing called climate change…
The Liberals couldn’t have taken down Harper without the help of the NDP, so how will our new prime minister treat the party across the floor? Will Trudeau extend an olive branch and attempt to work with the NDP on legislation? Will he invite the NDP to be a part of his cabinet? Or will he cast them aside now that he has a majority?
You’ve got a lot of work ahead of you Justin, don’t let us down.

What was the city thinking?
I cannot believe the idiocy that carries on at City Hall. This morning the two major feeds to the Granville Street Bridge (yes, that would be Howe Street and Granville Street) were shut down for little kiddies to have a Halloween Parade. For God's sake, there are alternatives, this is going too far! I hope next year they do it on the Stanley Park Causeway.

Art Gallery design still divisive
Re: “Vancouver Art Gallery reveals new wooden concept design”, Oct. 1, 2015.
I'm wavering between loving and hating this design. I think it will look horrible in the urban core setting. If it were to be built in a rural, open space, it would be great.
