Re: "Letters of the week," June 13.
This vendetta from the Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Association against Mikhail Lennikov has to end. He is of no threat to you or your organization or anyone else in Canada. This is hatred and racism.
Communism still exists in Russia. My grandparents came to Canada with their young children because of Communism.
They were ordered what to do and if they refused, you and your family were harmed or put to death. They lost members of their family because they refused.
The UCCLA shows no compassion or consideration for his wife and son. Leaving a wife without her husband, and son without his father-this family has suffered both mentally and physically.
It's time for this family to live in peace with the friends in their community which they so deserve.
Twenty-three MPs, including NDP, Liberal and a BLOC member, signed on to a letter requesting that Minister Kenney grant Mikhail a reprieve from his deportation on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
