The taste of victory

Like many people who love wearing foam hands and sports jerseys that visually add 30 pounds to our already flabby torso, we were stoked to learn that a Canucks-themed restaurant has opened at the Vancouver International Airport.

No word yet if the new Canucks-themed bar at YVR serves Mike Gillis Baja Rosa shooters.

Like many people who love wearing foam hands and sports jerseys that visually add 30 pounds to our already flabby torso, we were stoked to learn that a Canucks-themed restaurant has opened at the Vancouver International Airport.

According to the Vancouver Sun, the Canucks Sports Bar & Grill not only features Canucks-themed décor and memorabilia, but is “designed to recreate a club-level experience at Rogers Arena.” Because who doesn’t enjoy $9 beer and smelling like chicken wings before climbing into a cramped airplane? Also, does this mean the kitchen’s approach to the food will be bland, over-hyped and ultimately disappointing?

No word yet if individual menu items will be Canucks-themed, but they’d be foolish not to offer items such as Tony Tanti’s Scampi, Bure Purée, Honeyed Hamhuis, Swedish Delight, Tortorella with Marinara Sauce, Ventilated Luongo or Kesler and Fries. Plus we’re pretty sure Garth Butcher is looking for work and could probably bus a mean table when he’s not getting into fights with customers.
