Re: "Grandmother keeps up social justice fight," Feb. 20.
For those of us who have worked regularly with Jennifer Wade, one case that was not mentioned in Fiona Hughes's column was that of John Graham, Tutchone native of the Yukon, extradited in 2007 to the U.S. on the basis of no forensic evidence after hearings in Vancouver.
His Vancouver lawyer, Terry Laliberte, is known to have said, "In Canada I'd drive a truck through the holes in this case."
John Graham is now serving a life sentence in a South Dakota prison, falsely accused, according to his testimony, of the death in 1975 of Anna Mae Aquash, a Miq'maq native woman from Nova Scotia.
This is an extradition case of concern for all Canadians, and alarmingly similar in many ways to that of Leonard Peltier.
