Late on June 26, 2012, with just a few days left in the school year, the B.C. Teachers Federation reached a surprise deal with the government. It ended a year’s worth of labour headaches in schools.

I am weary, tired down to my soul of people saying, “I’m not against development, but…” Right now, you might be thinking to yourself, “Hey, I said that to this reporter last week! He’s talking about me.” No.

Vancouver is no stranger to superheroes. Clark Kent spent years in the Lower Mainland on the TV show Smallville before graduating to the big screen and finally pulling on a pair of tights last year for Man of Steel.
