Re: Yo, J. Hoover, Rants Nov. 17. Youre out walking your cat at midnight!That is what I am saying! We dog lovers dont have to be out walking our dogs at midnight. You are doing that so you can avoid dogs being out, not so it gives you exercise.

To the editor: I'm writing to express my opposition to the Omnibus Crime Bill the Harper government is currently trying to ram through Parliament. This bill will not make Canada safer.

To the editor: Re: "Letter of the week," Nov. 4. I must disagree with Rick Angus that the Occupy Vancouver demonstration is akin to protesting against the rain.

To the editor: Re: "View OV protest as global symptom, not local blight," Nov. 11. I want to express my gratitude to Geoff Olson. He is one of the few writers in today's media with the insight to see the truth and the courage to speak the truth.

To the editor: Re: "Independent candidates vie for school board," Nov. 11. It's true that not a single independent candidate was elected to the school board last time. Nor to the park board. Nor to city council.

Consider this a cautionary note before you head to the polls tomorrow. The last time an incumbent Vancouver mayor was beaten at the polls was more than 30 years ago when Mike Harcourt took out Jack Volrich. That's unlikely to repeat itself.

To the editor: I want to thank Mark Hasiuk for this column. I especially liked the last half. I see too many able-bodied people simply refusing to work. They feel it's an entitlement that we take care of them.
