CandyTown returns to Yaletown for its seventh year of holiday fun.
The magical annual event transforms Mainland Street with festive cheer on Saturday, November 24. Last year, the winter wonderland brought out approximately 15,000 people to celebrate.
Downtown Vancouver’s only free winter festival offers twinkling lights, candy canes on lamp poles and even costumed characters that will parade down the street.
Holiday shoppers are invited to start their seasonal gift buying in Yaletown with local merchants as well as a specialty market carrying unique gifts and holiday treats. In addition, you’ll also find Mainland Street filled with local artisans, street performers and live music.
Featured activities from noon to 7 pm include the following:
- “All I Want for Christmas” Gift Market
- Free Horse Carriage Rides (in front of Roundhouse Community Centre)
- Visits with Santa and the Ice Queen
- Ice Carving Demonstration
- Live music and street performers
- Candy Making
The festival is also looking volunteers to help make CandyTown a success. You may be one of Santa’s helpers, assist with the horse carriage, or take on a leadership role as assistant to the team leader.
