It seems like just yesterday I was down at the CBC Plaza playing bubble hockey against Radio 3's Lana Gay, waiting to watch the NHL Playoffs on the big screen...
Wait, I was just down at the CBC Plaza yesterday! But it wasn't to play bubble hockey (this photo is old), it was to watch and listen to The Malahat Revue play their first live show before they embarked on their epic, summer cycling tour from show to show across BC. If you missed it when I SHARED the dirt with you the first time, The Malahat Revue is a westcoast supergroup of sorts, made up of all the members of Said the Whale along with Hannah Georgas, Jeremy Fisher and Aidan Knight. They're cycling around on a tour, playing each other's songs and winding up playing their final show at the Vancouver Folk Festival on Sunday, July 18th.
Listen to my first podcast HERE if you want to hear individual songs from each artist and stay tuned for my next one as I share a bootlegged song from The Malahat Revue's performance today! I recorded the whole thing and will be bringing you some of the goodness hopefully around the same time they'll be hitting the folk fest.
And watch out for CBC's NXNW Summer Plaza Sessions mini concerts (FREE mini concerts) which run every Wednesday in July and August from noon til one at CBC Vancouver at 700 Hamilton St. It's gonna be good. Promise.
