Cooking fans, there's an upcoming event that you won't want to miss. The annual Culinary Garage Sale is one of the city's most unique foodie fundraisers, and it's a one-of-a-kind chance to get your hands on some pretty special kitchen gear, dishware, and cookbooks.

Held in support of Les Dames d’Escoffier's B.C. Chapter,  the Culinary Garage Sale is a wildly popular draw, thanks to its eclectic array of used, new, and donated kitchen tools, baking gear, signed cookbooks, magazines, and collectible dishware.

This year, the Culinary Garage Sale features items donated from the estate of chef James Barber, an eclectic collection of his tools of the trade and books, along with, for the second year, a donation from chef Nicky Major (Major the Gourmet) of vintage Martha Sturdy show pieces and platters. Also up for grabs: two never used large circular professional outdoor grills.

The sale benefits Les Dames, which is an invitational organization of women leaders in food, beverage, and hospitality whose mission is education, scholarship, and philanthropy. They support a number of talented women entering and working in the B.C. culinary industry in a number of disciplines.

You may want to head to the sale zone a little ahead of start time--last year 150 people were at the gate when it opened.
