If you didn't know this it may mean you are out of the Loop. And you know, you really can't have that. The best way to stay in the Farmers Market Loop is to subscribe to their monthly newsletter, which is a great source of information about what's upcoming at everyone's favorite neighbourhood outdoor market...
Jackie, proprietress of Yummy Baked Goods, which could also very well be called Stupid-Good Baked Goods.
... like how Yummy's next appearance at the market will be on Sunday, August 22 at the Kitsilano Market.
Those are giant smores. Sandwiches made of cookies and icing are genius. Genius, I tell you ...
I ate this butterscotch ripple Blondie. And because I am a nice person, I even shared it (somewhat) willingly.
Blondies aren't all that common in Vancity, so coming across this one at Yummy was a happy moment for me. I think the Blondie is the less-appreciated rival to the Brownie, and people can really be divided in their dessert bar loyalties ... sort of like the Betty vs. Veronica of the pastry universe. Jackie - who smells like a combination of butter and sugar - was very enthusiastic about how her Blondies have a butterscotch ripple; she had me at "Blondie" but "butterscotch ripple" put me over the edge.
What was the last mind-blowing purchase you made at the Farmers Market? Which market? When? The people need to know!
