IT'S FITNESS FRIDAY! |
My original plan for this week's post was to tell you about the green smoothies I've been making, BUT I just got a whole bunch of ingredients and recipes, so I'm going to take another week and go through them all.
So this week I'm going to tell you about Barre Fitness' Sunday afternoon program called "Raising The Barre"!!!
Every Sunday at the studios, Barre Fitness hosts a class that not only is a great workout but also supports a charity chosen by the clients. This month, with a minimum $10 donation you can support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Team In Training" and work towards your Barre Body Fitness Challenge goals!
For the month of March you can support the LLSC - The Team in Training, is the world’s largest and most successful endurance sports training program for charity. Throughout North America, Team In Training has successfully trained 570,000 participants to complete their endurance event, such as a marathon, half marathon, triathlon or cycle event, and have raised over $1.3 billion for blood cancer research and patient services.
April's charity will be the Karma Exchange (headed up by my fellow Barre client, Carmen Ruiz y Laza) - which is new way of social buying that offers you ways to indulge yourself, explore your city, and directly contribute to a charity that is helping to break the cycle of poverty.
Since Barre Fitness opened in August of 2010, they've donated over $8,500 to charities through the Raise The Barre Program!
I'm bringing some ladies this Sunday that have been inspired by my challenge to come out and try the workout, and it's a great intro into the studio if YOU want to try it. You can click here to sign up...
Follow me (@ChristineMcAvoy), and @BarreFitness on twitter for more updates from the challenge! - and if you have a great healthy smoothie recipe, please send it my way!
