The Celebration of Light has lit up Vancouver's skies for the first time in 2025.
On Saturday, July 19, the fireworks festival kicked off the first of three events featuring a team from Yukon in the all-Canadian 2025 competition.
Hailing from the northern territory, a pyrotechnic troupe called Midnight Sun dazzled crowds of tens of thousands. The team, made up of volunteer pyrotechnicians, was actually in Vancouver for the fireworks showcase a few years ago where they won the 2022 event.
Before the fireworks, the Snowbirds made an appearance above English Bay, and then, just after sunset, drones performed a show for the gathered crowds, just before the explosive final act.
People shared their photos and videos of the event on social media. Here are some of the highlights.

Of course, after the event, there were massive crowds leaving the area, which have become a sight on their own.
