From celebrating the existing Steveston Community Centre to attending a summer fair, there's something for everyone in Richmond this weekend.
1. Robotics workshop
A free, in-person robotics workshop for kids is taking place in Richmond tomorrow.
Hosted by Moonpreneur, parents and children are invited to join the hands-on event for kids ages 7 to 14 and explore the world of robotics and coding through interactive exercises.
Families are asked to bring a laptop for their one hour and 15 minute sessions by group.
Multiple Time Slots (by age group):
- 11:00 AM – Ages 7–8
- 1:00 PM – Ages 9–10
- 3:00 PM – Ages 11–12
- 4:45 PM – Ages 13–14

2. Summer fair
Josiah Kicks Academy is hosting a fundraising summer fair to support local taekwondo athletes as they represent BC in Croatia and Canada at the ITF Taekwondo World Championships this year.
There will be martial arts demos, mini games and prizes, food vendors, local business booths and kids activity stations.
A community raffle and giveaway will also take place alongside performances and live music.
To end the event, there will be an outdoor movie night as well.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $14 for kids when purchased online on Eventbrite here.

3. Richmond Farm Fest
The Richmond Farm Fest returns after a six-year hiatus and is celebrating the city's agricultural roots.
Festival highlights include a Farmers and Artisans Market where Richmond farmers will have locally grown fresh vegetables and fruit for sale, and artisans will be selling homemade goodies.
A culinary demo stage will be presented by Pursuit Kitchen.
Chefs bring farm-to-table inspirations to life with live cooking demonstrations at noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. using fresh, locally grown ingredients.
There will also be a variety of food trucks and local vendors.
Visitors are encouraged to take walk, cycle or transit to the event. A free bike and e-scooter valet service will be available on-site with free parking at KPU (8771 Lansdowne Rd.) and Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Rd.).

4. Steveston community appreciation day
The Stevseton Community Society is hosting a Community Appreciation Day to celebrate the existing community centre and library before it closes in December.
There will be free face painting, family storytime with the library, arts and crafts, and entertainment with a variety of drop-in and sign-up activities scheduled for all ages.
