Last week I made THIS post about the fisheries' annual Family Fishing Day where every resident of BC is granted a FREE fishing license for one weekend of the year so that they can enjoy it with their old man. Growing up going fishing with my father, it is now me that's "the old man" and over the past 4 Father's Days I've brought my son, Arlo, to different fishing spots in the province.
Yesterday we headed up to Brohm Lake and threw a line in. Just north of Squamish and literally just off the highway, it was a 2 minute walk from our car to this incredible setting you see below. And we all caught fish! My wife, myself, and our 3 year old all caught little cutthroat trout and another great experience on my special day.

I can't stress how awesome this initiative is and I encourage you to make a mental note and take part in it next year. Even if you're not a father, every Father's Day weekend is free fishing in BC lakes for everyone. Learn more and start planning next year's trip at bcfamilyfishing.com/.
