An official Harry Potter event is coming to Vancouver's Stanley Park.
Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience will turn a path through the woods in the famed park into the magical Forbidden Forest, which was near Hogwarts and Hogsmeade in the books and films.
This will be the touring event's first stop ever in Canada; it's already visited the UK, France, the U.S., and elsewhere. Two million people have explored the wizarding world's forest thus far.
"Set within one of Vancouver’s most treasured landmarks, Stanley Park, this enchanting outdoor experience invites visitors to discover an illuminated path filled with magical creatures such as Hippogriffs and Nifflers, and practice casting spells," reads a press release for the event.
Once people make it through the forest, which is really more semi-forbidden at this point, they'll arrive at a Harry Potter-themed village with food, drinks, and souvenirs. The whole experience is expected to last 60 to 90 minutes, with 45 minutes of walking on a hiking trail (which unfortunately makes it difficult for wheelchairs and those with mobility issues).
"With the much-loved Stanley Park Train unfortunately not available this coming fall and winter season, this exciting new special event is certain to bring a lot of joy and fun to residents and visitors alike,” says Vancouver park board chair Laura Christensen in a press release.
Tickets (entrance is forbidden without them) go on sale on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, for experiences starting Nov.7. An end date has not been announced.
