We are officially in the thick of Olio Festival 2012! Last night's kick off party at Celebrities was a blast, and there's only more to look forward to. Like tomorrow night at the Biltmore Cabaret, when Moncton, New Brunswick singer/songwriter Julie Doiron, formerly of the '90s band Eric's Trip, play a very awesome performance. With a new album set for release in late October, it's nice to know you won't actually have to wait that long to experience her plucky, warm, acoustic guitar-playin' prowess. Think upbeat sadness and downbeat joy. Since embarking on her solo career in 1996, she's honed the art of being herself.

Here's a little teaser of what's in store tomorrow night, fresh the upcoming So Many Days. Download "By The Lake" for free, and then giddy on up to the Biltmore to catch Julie, local indie-folkers Twin River, and electro-goth trio Gang Signs for Olio Friday.

Bands start at 10 p.m. and the fun doesn't stop until 3 a.m. so come and boogie down late! More details at oliofestival.com and on the FB event page.

Advance tickets $16 or include with your Olio Festival pass available online, or in-store at Redcat, Zulu, and Beatstreet Records.
