PEAK PERFORMANCE PROJECT - FREEFLOW

The PEAK Performance Project is a seven-year, 5.29 million dollar contest open to all musicians in British Columbia. The project was created by Vancouver's very own 100.5 The PEAK and Music BC to develop BC based emerging artists.

Every year, twenty finalists from BC will receive an intensive, one week training program in the music business, live performance, songwriting, marketing and promotion. From these, the top three will be crowned as the PEAK Performers of the year and will share $275,000 in cash for career development!

Over the coming weeks we'll be introducing you to all of this year's participating artists with quick interviews about the project, the other artists, and a little bit of Vancouver! Vote now for your favourite top 19 at www.peakperformanceproject.com.

Next up is Freeflow from Vancouver. They'll be playing The Cellar on October 29th (tonight!), and the only way to get into the showcase is by listening to 100.5 The Peak FM to win tickets! Limited tickets will also be released at the door.

Who's your favourite artist(s) in the Peak Performance Project and why?

That's a hard question. You mean besides Freeflow? To Be honest, I don't think I could pick one in particular. The PPP did such a great job in picking such diverse bands. I can truly say that I was blown away with every one of them.

What was the most valuable thing you took away from Boot Camp?

Man, only 1 thing? I guess if I had to choose, it would have to be motivation. Being around such great talent you can't help but be inspired to do your best. Even if it's just to try and keep up.

What is one thing you wish you brought to Boot Camp, but didn’t?

Maybe sleeping pills. Or something to keep you asleep. There was a lot "body noises" and snoring going on in the dorm room.

What’s your favourite venue to play at in BC?

The Commodore has got to be up there. The Media Club. Also, The Biltmore has been a nice addition to the Vancouver scene.

Where is your favorite hangout in Vancouver?

We usually have our meetings at the 5 Point on Main Street. Also, Jason's (singer) new apartment is pretty sweet.

If you win the grand prize, what are you going to put the money towards?

We have a new CD that will be coming out early 2010. A lot of the $150,000 will go towards finishing that. Touring, touring, touring! Promoting the CD and tours. We are going to have a great looking new website. $150,000 seems like a lot of money. But in this business it can go fast. We will only have 1 year to spend it...........and I don't think that is going to be a problem.
