If you are able to visit Vancouver’s PNE and the rides, crowds, games and vendors get to be a little much search out the nature retreat. The park often gets overlooked as it’s not the easiest to find, which is odd as it is literally in the middle of the PNE and is huge! The park features a large pond and boardwalk as well as little bridges and a dense forest that blocks out most of the sounds of the fair. It is a surreal experience to be amongst thousands of people enjoying Super Dogs and then walk for 2 minutes and be alone, that’s right I saw one person and it was a security guard and this was on a Saturday! The park also offers some interesting views through the trees of the larger amusement rides. The easiest way to enter the nature retreat, is to walk west from the Octopus ride.
